I paint in our bedroom on a bench tucked in the corner so everything messy has to be tided away after an art session, while pencils are simply kept in a handy box or just left on the desk. Zentangles are for me the easiest form of art particularly during difficult times when anxiety and fear sap your creativity and you simply can’t cope with getting out and putting away acrylic paints. The first is a Zentangle rendered in Polychromos colour pencils on cartridge paper. Over the next few entries intermittently I will share some of these art works. Ask yourself, is it really worth risking your life, the lives of your family and friends and the lives of so many other people you may never know and whom you may unknowingly infect just to lie on a crowded beach, drink in a packed bar, eat in a restaurant or even get your hair cut?įor many people in our part of the world there is much to do at home including learn new things such as art.īelow is some of the art I have done most afternoons throughout this crisis, most of it are zentangles, though I have done at least one painting. Do not go out unless you really have to, beaches and entertainment venues can wait. But I don’t wish to say much about the coronavirus, there is so much in the media about this, much of it meant to disturb and stir up fear rather than give valid factual information that is needed to help as many of us as possible though this nightmare.Īll I will say is stay home, stay safe.
Many people like myself continue to be in lock down at least those of us who have some sense and some responsibility, as of course it is not just about ourselves, recklessness cost lives and those who selfishly take trips out to crowded beaches and other public places not only risk their lives but the lives of other people. Well it really has been a while this time and this is the first entry since back in January but life has been and continues to be difficult to say the least for most of us.
